Barnes & Noble’s Nook Comes to the UK in October
Barnes Noble’s e-reader Nook, as well as Nook e-book store will be coming to the UK mid-October, the company announced.
“We’re confident our award-winning technology, combined with our expansive content – including books, children’s books, magazines, apps, movies and more – will bring UK customers the option they’ve been waiting for,” said Barnes Noble CEO William J. Lynch.
The first device to hit the British shores will be Nook Simple Touch, also available as a GlowLight-equipped variant. Details about the pricing have not been revealed, and Barnes Noble promises partnerships with leading retailers will be announced “shortly.”
This is the first time the company has gone international. Its catalog of more than 2.5 million titles will definitely be of interest to avid readers looking for an alternative to Amazon’s Kindle, which is already available globally.
The Nook digital bookstore will be available at www.nook.co.uk.
